heeeeey everybody! so, i did it. i did the thing. i survived art school.
so, what have i been doing for the last month now that i’m an Official College Graduate? netflix. lots and lots of netflix. and moving. but mostly netflix.
and drawing! which brings me to my next point: commissions! i’ll be taking commissions again soon in the next couple of weeks, so if anyone out there is lookin’ for some doodles to get doodles, i’m yer gal!
i’ll be making a more official post, but until then you can shoot me a message on tumblr or an email at email@example.com and we can work something out!
now that this semester is coming to a close (as well as my entire college career! eep!), i figured i probably ought to show you all what i’ve been working on!
for my senior thesis here at MECA, i decided to make birthday party supplies with a circus theme. pictured here are the gift bags, invitations, thank-you cards, and table settings! it’s been a lot of fun making all these things, and i’ll have even more to show you in the coming weeks.
also, if you’re going to be in the Portland, ME for the First Friday Art Walk in May, stop into MECA and see my thesis display, as well as all those of the other graduating seniors! everyone’s put a crazy amount of work into their installations, and it’d be awesome to see as many people as possible coming to look at our work!
i had some time to do some drawing for fun (gasp!) so i drew my friend mia who’s a totally fabulous babe!
it’s time for a change! starting today, bitches-and-beehives will be known as pinfolk!
if you’re already following me, you’ll keep getting my posts, so you won’t have to worry about missing anything. i’ve got a spiffy new theme and everything, so check it out if you’d like!
i’ve also changed my etsy shop to http://pinfolk.etsy.com, and you can head over and take a look at that, as well.
i look forward to hopefully making some new bigger and better things.
thanks to everyone who’s followed me in the past few days, and a big thanks to everyone who’s been here since the beginning. you guys are the best!
if you’re going to be in the Portland, ME area this First Friday, make sure you stop by Sanctuary Tattoo on Forest Ave. and check out the “Crypto-Fauna, Chimera-Flora” show being put on by the senior illustration students here at MECA!
these are the two pieces i’ll have hanging. it’s going to be a great show!
it’s valentine time again! just like last year, i’ve got a few cute lil designs up my sleeve. i’ll be posting them over the next week or so, and all of them will be available for purchase on both my storenvy and etsy sites!
since it’s almost next semester, i figured i should probably post the pictures of my last project of last semester!
my final project was to design my own stationery set, including paper, envelopes, and matching rubber stamps in a theme of my choice, which ended up being a “rainy day” theme.
every piece is my own design and made by hand, excluding the actual physical rubber stamps, and i’m really really stoked on how it came out!
space pins, coming to a holiday sale near you
here’s a sneak peek of some of the new stuff i’ll have for sale at the MECA Holiday Sale!
if you’re going to be in the Portland, ME area on December 6th + 7th, stop on into MECA and check out my stuff, as well as many other artists and crafters!
my latest project! everyone in the class was assigned something different, and i got to create a memory match game. i picked an outer space theme, and i decided to go for a style i don’t use very often and i’m super jazzed about how it came out. now i just need someone to play it with me!
each tile is 2.25” square, made from sticker paper on chipboard and the box is made from sticker paper on a box i put together from an old cereal box; all of the art was done digitally in photoshop
our last project was a mock magazine editorial illustration and my article was about not getting sick!
lookit that healthy lil guy in his bubble
you go, bubble guy, you go.
poor, poor Meagan
lost too soon to the all-too-familiar fate of apple possession
don’t do apples, kids
our last assignment was to create a poster for a non-profit
we were each assigned a different organization, and i was given Girls, Inc. which is a really great organization that helps to empower young girls and teach them different life skills in order to succeed and accomplish all of their goals and i think that’s pretty neat!
